TRADITION AND INNOVATION

The renowned winery Mad Wine, which focuses on expressing the unique terroir of the village of Mád, was founded in 2009 and is located in the heart of the Tokaj region. The municipality of Mád has the largest total area of vineyards in the region. These vineyards were classified at the beginning of the 17th century. The company owns 20 hectares of vineyards on eleven different plots, most of which are located in prime areas. The selected plots were highly classified in 1737 – the first vineyard classification in the world – and today are considered to be those with the highest potential in the region. Dry Tokaj wines have their own unique bottle, similar to Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne. Since 2013, the MÁD brand has been protected in the EU and the USA.
